Pelé, was born in Três Corações, on 23th, October of 1940. Son of also futebolist Dondinho, was discovered for the professional soccer in 1954, by the coach Waldemar de Brito (former player of the 1934 brazilian selection). The coach scale him for the youthful team of the Bauru Atlético Clube, a small town in the State of São Paulo, and, in 1956, obtains its act of contract, at 16 years old, for the Santos Futebol Clube, in the São Paulo coast.
The team, that since 1912 conquers only twice the state title, would be from this ten times São Paulo State Champion and five times Brazilian Champion.
His plays and performances become historical and he pass to be called King of the Soccer. In the Brazilian selection, he assumes as full time player at 17 years old and participates of the conquest of the Sweden Cup (1958), Chile (1962) and Mexico (1970). In 19th November of 1969 he made thousandth goal, in one penalty against Clube de Regatas Vasco da Gama, at Maracanã.
He said farewell to the Brazilian Selection in 1971, playing against Yugoslavia, after disputes for it 112 games.
He writes two books, I Am Pelé (1971) and Playing with Pelé (1974). He leaves the Santos Futebol Clube in 2nd, October of 1974, was 34 years old, and its pass negotiable with the New York Cosmos by the value has remembered of 7 million dollar.
He disputes in the United States 111 games and makes 65 goals at 1st, October of 1977 he said farewell to the professional soccer, in a game at the Giants Stadium of New York.

He is married for the first time in 1966 with Rose Cholbi and has the children Kelly Cristina, Edinho and Jennifer. He breaks up in 1978 and he has some dates, of which the most notified is with the actress and presenter of TV Xuxa Meneghel. In August of 1996 justice gives to prevailing of the cause to Sandra Regina Machado, who since 1991 moved a paternity action against him.
